Ex-girlfriends vs. Ex-boyfriends

Burning question: Why do girls tend to demonize their exes, while guys tend to romanticize theirs?

Follow-up: I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that women are often rationalizing the reasons for breaking up long before they actually go through with the breakup.

cuz men don't harbor grudges and of course...we have emotions, we don't just "break up", we definitely do miss our exes, which is why we romanticize them. and on the other hand...in my opinion (my opinion only, please don't attack me women), women tend to hold grudges and like to revenge most of the time.
stef, is this about that video store girl? is garry in a buttload of trouble?
LOL hilarious. She was NOT my ex! We went on like 1 date. We didn't even speak the same language! =)
IMHO, it's all about expectations. If women demonize, it's because they expected Mr. Knight in Shining Armor, the G in GQ. The perfect guy. THAT guy. While men, when in dating mode, are looking for nothing but the physical. If men romanticize, it's not the girl they're thinking about, it's the sex.
well that's an interesting take.
i'm pretty sure it's because the guys know they weren't good enough for the girl they were dating, while the girls have suddenly realized it, hence the break up. O=oP
Maybe the guys really WERE demonic! There's more than one girl out there who remembers me as a bad guy, though I'm perfect now.
is it because it's usually the guy dumping the girl? it's hard to get over rejection.
